Mike has worked in the EFL field since 1994, first of all as a Teacher, Senior Teacher, Assistant Director of Studies, and Director of Studies, working in IH schools in Opole and Katowice, Poland. After a year travelling in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand as a CELTA tutor, and in Indonesia as a school-start-up Director of Studies, he returned to Europe as a CELTA and Delta tutor in IH Budapest, where he also filled in as Director of Studies for a few months. Whilst working in Budapest, he took on the role of Academic Manager for IHWO, working on the initial development of the Certificate in Advanced Methodology, IHCOLT, Teaching Business English and Teaching One-to-One courses. Since 2008, he has been a freelance teacher trainer, both face-to-face and online, and wrote the ebook “The Art of Lesson Planning”. He has over 25 years’ experience as a schools’ inspector with International House, both in-person and remotely, and as a CELTA assessor.
